“Gratitude”  (Luke 17:11-19)

August 29, 2010 10:30 A.M.

For all the books written on Christian living out there, you’d think it was a mystery that was too hard to grasp. The reality is the concept can be whittled down to one word: Gratitude. What does it mean and why should we have it?

“Forgiveness”  (Luke 17:1-10)

August 22, 2010 10:30 A.M.

“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Those familiar words are of course one of the petitions in the Lord’s Prayer. We may pray them out of habit, but when one really thinks about their meaning, it should give us pause. Essentially we’re asking God to deal with our sins the way we deal with others’ sins against us! How should we deal with others’ sins? What does it look like to forgive?

“The Prodigal Father”  (Luke 15:1-2 & 11-32)

July 18, 2010 10:30 A.M.

What does it look like to be “lost”? In Christian circles we use the term a lot to describe someone not walking with God. But often times the picture we create of “lost-ness” is incomplete at best. We seem to picture this person as a profligate and wasteful sinner in all of their deeds. Jesus’ picture of the lost goes far deeper than this. For, even the best of us, those who seemed to have been found, are shown by Jesus to be just as lost, if not more so, than the worst of sinners. Why is this? What does it mean to be found anyway? Pastor Erick continues our series through the gospel of Luke as He teaches us about “The Prodigal Father.”

“Counting The Cost”  (Luke 15:25-35)

July 11, 2010 10:30 A.M.

We place a huge emphasis on someone “making a decision” for Christ. As a matter of fact, we place such an emphasis on that initial decision that often times we don’t take the time to let people know just how totally different their life will be after coming to Jesus. Unfortunately, this ends up creating shallow believers that can’t help but feel they’ve been sold a bill of goods. Pastor Erick continues our series in Luke’s Gospel discussing what it means to “Count The Cost.”

“A Party For Losers”  (Luke 15:1-10)

July 4, 2010 10:30 A.M.

If there is one thing we see over and over in the life and ministry of Jesus, it is His ability to turn all our expectations on their head. In revealing God to us, Jesus shows us a compassion and care for the outcasts, sinners, and losers that our natural minds would have never imagined. For the desperate and needy, Jesus has great riches waiting. But for the independent and proud, nothing but wrath awaits. Pastor Erick continues our series through the gospel of Luke, with a message entitled, "A Party For Losers."
